The Syrian state news agency, SANA, reported that the Israeli operation aimed to apprehend men from the village, opening fire when protests erupted. Familial displacement followed the raid, with dozens fleeing from Beit Jin.
Israel justified the operation, citing intelligence efforts to capture suspects from Jamaa Islamiya, who allegedly planned attacks on civilians.
