Political Manoeuvres Amidst the Sabarimala Gold Loss Controversy

In Kerala, tensions are rising as the opposition Congress and BJP contend that the state's ruling CPI(M) government is deploying diversionary tactics. The recent police action against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil is perceived as a deliberate move to shift focus from the Sabarimala gold loss investigation.
Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan and BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar have expressed concerns, citing the timing of the police action just ahead of local body elections. Both suggest it is a ploy to detract from the central issue involving the loss of gold from the Sabarimala temple.
The BJP alleges that both the CPI(M) and Congress are implicated in long-standing irregularities at Sabarimala and claims the recent actions are part of a muddled political strategy to obscure these issues.
