Senior Congress leaders in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his Deputy DK Shivakumar, have reaffirmed the party's cohesion, amid ongoing discussions about the future leadership of the state. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, they emphasized unity and reiterated that any decisions regarding the Chief Ministership would be made by the Congress high command.
Shivaganga Basavaraj, a close confidant of Shivakumar, refuted any notions of factionalism, underscoring the unity within the Congress. He assured that Shivakumar remains committed to his ambitions, concurring with the ultimate decision of the high command, while downplaying speculations about recent trips to Delhi.
The Karnataka Congress leadership is focused on strategic discussions around the upcoming local body and 2028 elections.
