In a provocative disclosure, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan revealed he met with Jamaat-e-Islami leaders at their behest, a group he has publicly criticized. This candid admission was made during a 'meet the press' event at the Kozhikode Press Club.
Vijayan confirmed that the discussions took place within the confines of the CPI(M) state committee office. He stated that despite their attempts to justify their activities, he did not provide any favorable commendation to them.
The meeting also saw the presence of the Solidarity Youth Movement leaders, whom Vijayan reprimanded, labeling them "the biggest antisocial elements." The chief minister stressed his intent to speak frankly, maintaining the ruling coalition's stance against Jamaat-e-Islami and its youth wing.
