High Court Drama: PMK Factions Clash Over Leadership and Symbol

The faction led by Anbumani Ramadoss within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) stated on Sunday that the recent Delhi High Court ruling did not unseat him as party leader or affect its status and symbol, the Mango. The claim was contrary to the rival faction's interpretation.

Anbumani's faction argues that the court decision reaffirms his leadership role until August 2026, as recognized by the Election Commission. The faction stresses that the court merely highlighted the need for civil court adjudication of internal disputes.

Both PMK factions assert victory following the court's procedural decision. Each is planning separate agitations in Tamil Nadu concerning caste census demands, emphasizing the power struggle and strategic posturing as the 2026 Assembly elections approach.
