In a fiery session at the Lok Sabha, Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi took aim at Home Minister Amit Shah over his comments during the election reform debate. Gandhi accused Shah of avoiding direct answers to pressing questions, alleging that Shah was visibly nervous and under immense mental pressure.
Adding to the criticism, Congress MP Tanuj Punia echoed Gandhi's remarks, stating that the lack of transparency in Shah's responses was evident, notably regarding issues in Haryana. The BJP, however, dismissed these accusations, with Union Minister Giriraj Singh condemning Gandhi's 'hit-and-run' tactics and criticizing his conduct during parliamentary proceedings.
The debate intensified as Gandhi repeatedly challenged Shah to address allegations of 'vote chori' and irregularities in electoral rolls. Shah defended the government's actions, insisting that Parliament would not bend to Gandhi's demands and reiterating the importance of the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. The session ended with a walkout by Opposition MPs, forcing an adjournment.
