Anwar Ibrahim's Cabinet Shakeup: Resignations and New Appointments
Malaysia's Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, plans to appoint new ministers to stabilize his government and address vacancies created by resignations and expired senate terms. The nation has experienced economic growth since Anwar's tenure, yet internal disagreements and public dissatisfaction over rising living costs persist.
Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, is set to announce the appointment of new ministers on Tuesday to stabilize his administration. This move comes as a response to cabinet vacancies caused by resignations and expired senate terms.
Under Anwar's leadership since November 2022, Malaysia has witnessed steady economic growth and an increase in foreign investments. Despite this progress, internal disagreements within the cabinet and rising public dissatisfaction due to living costs have posed challenges for the administration.
Anwar, in a social media post, emphasized his government's commitment to strengthening governance and policy implementation. The Prime Minister aims to fill vacancies created by recent resignations and looks to replace Tengku Zafrul Aziz, whose senatorship expired in December. Aziz, previously leading trade negotiations with the United States, has been appointed head of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority.
