A sensational mix-up has emerged in the draft electoral rolls published for West Bengal, with Atish Aziz, son of CPI(M) leader Md Salim, alleging the erroneous addition of a Hindu surname, 'Awasthi', to their names.
In a critical social media post, Aziz, a voter in the Kolkata Port Assembly constituency, pointed out this glaring inaccuracy, sparking widespread political debate and questioning the efficacy of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Sharing images of the rolls as evidence, Aziz highlighted concerns over the revision's integrity and noted that his party's booth-level agent is addressing the issue with electoral authorities.
