Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs staged a dramatic overnight protest at the Parliament complex, expressing vehement opposition to the newly passed VB-G RAM G Bill.
The Bill, replacing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), was pushed through with little debate, according to the TMC.
Protesters decried the perceived dismantling of rural employment guarantees and the removal of Mahatma Gandhi's name from the scheme.
