In a strong rebuttal to recent political controversy, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah affirmed the inseparability of Jammu and Kashmir. He dismissed a BJP leader's demand to grant separate statehood to Jammu by splitting the Union Territory, during a visit to Narwal Fruit Mandi on Monday.
Abdullah pointed out that the desire to split the regions equates to separating the head from the body. His comments came in the wake of BJP MLA Sham Lal Sharma's contentious proposal, which the state's BJP leader, Sat Sharma, subsequently disavowed.
Accompanied by senior party members, Abdullah interacted with local stakeholders, asserting the NC government's commitment to serving the people and addressing their concerns. He assured them that all promises would be met, emphasizing efforts to enhance the region's welfare.
