In a message shared on the platform 'X', PM Modi acknowledged the significance of Sankranti, celebrated in diverse forms across India, highlighting its spiritual importance and the merit of Uttarayana. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended Pongal events in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, as part of the BJP's 'Namma Ooru Modi Pongal' campaign, which celebrates local festivities while spotlighting Prime Minister Modi's governance and initiatives.

Pongal, a major Tamil festival, is a time to express thanks to nature, particularly the sun and farm animals, marking it with family gatherings symbolizing prosperity and gratitude.
