Nitin Nabin, the newly elected BJP national president, has received Z-category security cover, according to officials. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been tasked with this responsibility, upon directive from the Union Home Ministry.
Nabin, a 45-year-old five-time MLA from Bihar, was unanimously appointed as the youngest ever leader of the BJP. This move coincides with the BJP's strategic efforts to broaden its influence with upcoming state elections.
His security cover is similar to that provided to his predecessor, J P Nadda. The CRPF's VIP wing, which administers the security of about 200 high-profile individuals such as Home Minister Amit Shah and the Gandhi family, will oversee Nabin's protection as he travels nationwide.
