A heated political confrontation has erupted in Kerala following Minister Saji Cherian's controversial remarks, drawing sharp criticism from the Congress-led UDF. The opposition accuses the ruling Left government of advancing a 'dangerous communal agenda,' while the CPI(M) dismisses these allegations as 'false propaganda.'

The controversy emerged after Cherian addressed the outcomes of recent local elections in Kasaragod and Malappuram, which some have interpreted as targeting Muslim League candidates' victories. Opposition Leader V D Satheesan claims these remarks are part of a 'planned majoritarian communalism' effort by the CPI(M), allegedly endorsed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

In response, CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan Master has rejected these accusations, accusing Congress of spreading false propaganda and aligning with communal forces for political gains. As tensions escalate, the UDF vows strong protests, asserting its broad support across Kerala's communities.
