Actor-politician Vijay has spoken out against the recent assault on television journalists in Tamil Nadu's Karur, allegedly by individuals connected to a local politician. A reporter and cameraman from a Tamil news channel in Tiruchirappalli were the victims in this alarming incident.
Vijay condemned the attack, describing it as a blatant assault on the 'fourth pillar of democracy.' He expressed dismay that law enforcement has not taken any action against the perpetrators nor registered a case.
In a social media statement, Vijay denounced the behavior of Srirangam DMK MLA Palaniandi, whom he accused of leading the assault, and criticized the Chief Minister for inaction. He called for justice for the journalists and warned that failure to act could influence the upcoming Assembly elections.
