The Election Commission has appointed Pratap Singh, a former IRS officer, as the Special Observer for the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Singh is tasked with overseeing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and ensuring election preparations are in line with Commission guidelines.
The Commission has instructed Singh to refrain from issuing appreciation letters to officials during his tenure. His appointment details have been shared with relevant electoral officers, including Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik.
