Congress leader Sachin Pilot has raised alarm over the India-US trade deal, labeling it detrimental to Indian farmers, particularly cotton and soybean growers. Speaking at a Women's Congress event, Pilot voiced concerns about the agreement's potential impact on farmers and small traders.
Pilot indicated that the deal has prompted numerous questions and emphasized the need for public awareness. He asserted that the agreement could harm the future of soybean and cotton farmers, expressing regret that successive governments have jeopardized the livelihoods of small traders and youth.
The former Rajasthan deputy chief minister questioned the circumstances surrounding the trade deal, pointing out repeated announcements by US President Donald Trump. Echoing concerns, the party's Rajasthan in-charge, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, warned of dire consequences for small farmers and the domestic agriculture sector due to tariff-free imports from the US.
