Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar has launched his party's election campaign seeking to reorient Hungary towards Europe. In Budapest on Sunday, Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar officially launched his party's electoral campaign, announcing his ambition to steer Hungary back towards a Western orientation. Magyar, who shifted from Orbán's Fidesz to establish the Tisza party, has quickly gained traction, securing 30% in European Parliament elections mid-2024. Furthermore, Tisza's detailed 239-page governing program emphasizes policy reforms, including commitments to tackle corruption, improve social services, and enhance Hungary's relation within the EU. With a compelling roster of professionals as candidates, Magyar aims to end Hungary's international isolation and foster economic recovery.
