Allegations of Safety Crisis for Bengali Workers in BJP-ruled States

In a recent statement, the Trinamool Congress expressed grave concerns about the safety of Bengali migrants after the death of Sonamoni Bairagya, a hotel attendant from West Bengal, in Gujarat. The party sees this as part of a pattern of alleged violence against workers in BJP-ruled states.
The TMC also recalled the murder of Sukhen Mahato, another migrant from West Bengal, in Maharashtra, which the BJP allegedly tried to downplay. The party argues these incidents indicate significant governance and safety failures in BJP-governed areas.
This criticism coincides with economic challenges in West Bengal, forcing workers like Bairagya to migrate. The alleged safety crisis adds pressure on PM Narendra Modi's administration, with family members of the deceased suspecting foul play despite claims of suicide by hotel authorities.
