In a recent development, TNCC chief K Selvaperunthagai has voiced his disapproval of party MP Manickam Tagore's comments regarding power-sharing arrangements with the DMK. According to Selvaperunthagai, it is crucial for party members to adhere to the directives issued by the AICC, which discourages discussing internal alliance matters publicly.
Selvaperunthagai queried why Tagore chose the upcoming Assembly election period to raise the issue of power-sharing. He highlighted that prominent Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have instructed members to refrain from expressing such opinions publicly.
The TNCC president reiterated his commitment to following the AICC's guidance. He stated that a committee under Girish Chodankar has been tasked with overseeing seat-sharing negotiations with the DMK, and emphasized the importance of respecting party protocols and maintaining unity.
