Mizoram CM Challenges Allegations Amid Lengpui Land Deal Controversy

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has firmly denied allegations of financial misconduct related to the Lengpui land deal, stating he will resign if proven guilty. Faced with claims from Congress leader John Rotluangliana of receiving Rs 10 crore in kickbacks, Lalduhoma has challenged the opposition to substantiate their accusations.

The chief minister countered by directing focus on the previous MNF administration, accusing it of attempting an illicit land sale to the IAF. He assured that his government merely facilitates transactions between the landowner and buyer, adhering to standard protocols, and stated an impending CBI investigation will clarify the issue.

The controversy, surrounding land near Lengpui airport, has fueled political tensions, with claims of hurried financial transactions and legal breaches involving Rs 187.90 crore. Opposition parties have called for a CBI probe, alleging improper compensation distribution among landowners.
