BJP's Senthil Nathan Accused of Derogatory Remarks Against Congress MP Jothimani

BJP District President Senthil Nathan faces legal action for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Congress MP Jothimani during a protest in Karur. The Karur Town Police have registered a legal case against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Senthil Nathan following allegations of making derogatory remarks about Congress Member of Parliament Jothimani. This reportedly occurred during a protest organized by the BJP Women's Wing on February 10 in front of the Head Post Office in Karur, according to officials.

The demonstration, as stated in a press release from the District Superintendent of Police, aimed to condemn perceived injustices against women under the governance of the DMK party. The protest was spearheaded by district president Nathan, with BJP State Secretary Amar Prasad Reddy and former Member of Parliament Karvendhan attending as special guests.

Police reported the participation of over 300 BJP office bearers and members who chanted slogans to voice their demands. During the rally, Nathan allegedly made indecent remarks directed at Karur MP Jothimani, considered insulting and capable of disturbing public peace. Following a complaint from Karur District Congress President Ramesh, a case has been filed against Nathan under multiple legal sections.

In response to the incident, Congress MP Jothimani, speaking from Delhi, condemned the remarks in strong terms. She expressed her disgust to ANI, stating the language used was obscene and offensive against her and women in general. Jothimani suggested Nathan's comments exemplified an ingrained, patriarchal mindset, indicative of the broader views of RSS and BJP, which undermines women's contributions and characterizes them solely as objects.
