In a remarkable turn of events, the newly established Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by Balendra Shah, is on the verge of a historic sweep in Nepal's general elections. With results emerging from 161 out of 165 constituencies, the RSP has secured six seats and holds a significant lead in 110 others, as per the latest reports from local media.

Known popularly as 'Balen', Shah, a former Kathmandu Mayor and an engineer by profession, is upending the political scene with substantial support, particularly from Gen Z voters. Shah, who has previously been reluctant to lead an interim government, opted instead to seek a full-term governance through the ballot, reflecting a shift in the public's trust towards new political ethos.
