Tej Pratap Yadav, the chief of Janshakti Janta Dal and elder son of RJD leader Lalu Prasad, has indicated his party's plans to run in the forthcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. At a press meeting, Yadav expressed uncertainty about whether JJD will contest solo or collaborate with other political parties, with a decision expected soon.

The party is also setting its sights on various seats in Bihar's Legislative Council elections. Yadav highlighted JJD's recent victories in the Patna University Students Union polls as a precursor to their larger electoral ambitions. He plans to visit West Bengal to finalize seat allocations shortly.

The announcement comes after Yadav's expulsion from RJD last year, following personal controversies and subsequent family discord, including his father disowning him for what was termed as 'irresponsible behavior.' Yadav alleged a plot to create discord with his brother, Tejashwi Yadav, blaming the situation on metaphorical 'traitors.'
