Political Shift: Ex-BJP Leader Joins TMC in Strategic Move

His move, shortly before the candidate list announcement, has sparked speculation about his potential candidacy against Adhikari in the Nandigram assembly seat for the upcoming polls.

In a notable political turn, Pabitra Kar, previously a BJP panchayat chief, rejoined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday. This development comes amid intense speculation that Kar might challenge Suvendu Adhikari, the opposition leader, in the Nandigram assembly seat during the forthcoming elections.
Kar, who left the TMC to join the BJP in November 2020, was instrumental in strengthening BJP's base in the Boyal-1 area, aiding in the party's success during the 2021 assembly elections. His return to TMC underscores dissatisfaction with what he termed as the BJP's anti-people policies.
The move comes just hours before TMC's planned candidate list announcement and signals a potential strategic shift, with Kar's candidature against Adhikari being a highly discussed possibility. This political maneuver echoes the dynamic and volatile nature of West Bengal's political landscape.
