AJP Announces First List of Candidates for Assam Elections

The Assam Jaitya Parishad (AJP) revealed its initial slate of candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections, set to compete in eight constituencies.
The party's president, Lurinjoyti Gogoi, is set to contest from Khowang, while working president and former Union minister Rajen Gohain will take the stand in Barhampur.
The AJP, which is collaborating with the Congress alliance, will contest a total of 10 seats. President Gogoi raised concerns over the polling schedule, suggesting it favors a particular political group.
