Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera has leveled serious allegations against the BJP government in Assam, claiming that it has failed to deliver on poll promises for over ten years. In a press briefing, Khera accused the BJP of using religious and cultural tactics to distract voters from real issues while engaging in corrupt practices.

Khera drew a comparison between the ruling administration and the fictional con artists from the Hindi film 'Bunty aur Babli'. He urged the electorate to prevent a 'sequel' by voting the BJP out. He claimed that assets of BJP leaders have increased manifold, citing examples from affidavits filed by ministers and MLAs whose spouses saw significant leaps in wealth.

Khera argued that the BJP-led government failed to address critical state issues like the annual floods, employment for youth, and the tea garden workers' welfare. He also mentioned the rise in underweight newborns and the shutdown of government schools, criticizing BJP's divisive election strategies.
