TMC Accuses Election Commission of Bias in West Bengal Polls

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has raised serious allegations against the Election Commission of India, accusing it of biased actions targeting its leaders during the ongoing West Bengal assembly elections.

In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the TMC claims that senior poll officials are conducting a selective witch-hunt against the party, particularly aimed at Abhishek Banerjee.

The party provided evidence of purported instructions given to the police and other observers to search vehicles of TMC leaders while neglecting similar checks for BJP leaders. The elections are scheduled for April 23 and 29, with results to be declared on May 4.
