TVK chief Vijay unveiled an ambitious manifesto on Thursday for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, set for April 23. The document points towards the welfare of women, with commitments including Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for those under 60, an 8-gram gold gift for marriages, and more.
Vijay, transitioning from actor to politician, has also promised high-quality governance with efforts to prevent school dropouts through a Rs 15,000 annual stipend for mothers or guardians of students in government schools. On the educational front, 100 special schools named after K Kamaraj and higher education loans up to Rs 20 lakh were assured.
The manifesto doesn't stop there—it undertakes to address farmers with a total agricultural cooperative loan waiver for small landowners. A strong emphasis is placed on job creation, healthcare, and social welfare programs, with the election scheduled for 234 Assembly seats on April 23.
