In a sweeping move ahead of the April 23 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, TVK chief Vijay announced a raft of ambitious pledges in the party's manifesto. Key promises include a Rs 2,500 monthly allowance for women, free gold for marriage, and six annual cooking gas cylinders per family.
The actor-turned-politician vows corruption-free governance and significant strides in education, health, and agriculture. Highlights are interest-free loans for women-run SHGs, Rs 15,000 annually for mothers of schoolchildren, and substantial support for farmers with loan waivers and improved MSP for crops.
With a mission to address unemployment, TVK promises to create five lakh government jobs, stipendiary internships for youth, and better conditions for government employees. Health reforms include modernized hospitals, free checkups, and a comprehensive insurance scheme while ensuring essential services and infrastructure are accessible to all citizens.
