The India Union Muslim League (IUML), a dominant ally in Kerala's United Democratic Front (UDF), addressed media concerns on Friday regarding the Congress party's ongoing dispute over its Chief Ministerial candidate. IUML leader Sadik Ali Shihab Thangal optimistically noted that Congress would become more cooperative after election results on May 4.

Thangal emphasized patience, ensuring that appropriate decisions would follow the declaration of poll outcomes. He affirmed IUML's contentment with its current alliance benefits, dismissing speculations about a Deputy CM demand if UDF gains power. IUML echoed the need for internal resolutions to maintain unity and strength within the front.

As public debates surfaced over party candidacy, Congress leaders expressed varying views. M K Raghavan warned against public discussions, fearing harm to party reputation, whereas Kannur MP K Sudhakaran acknowledged the democratic necessity of such debates. IUML, however, remained confident in Congress's decision-making capabilities, committing to adhere to UDF's final choice.
