Sukhu Calls for Post-Election SIR in West Bengal for Fair Outcomes

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu suggested that the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in West Bengal should occur after the assembly elections to ensure fairness. Addressing Congress's strategy in upcoming polls, he emphasized returning to the party's roots and gradually regaining public trust.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday proposed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal should be conducted post-assembly elections to avoid unfair advantages for any political party.

Sukhu, during his campaign for Congress candidates, highlighted the extensive development efforts driven by the previous Congress-led UPA government. Despite Congress's long absence from power in West Bengal, he remains optimistic about the party's prospects.

He stated that Congress's current strategy involves staying true to its ideological principles and strengthening its grassroots connections, which he believes will eventually lead the party to emerge as a significant opposition force and establish a strong presence in the state.
