Jharkhand BJP will take out a torchlight procession in Ranchi on Tuesday against the Congress-led opposition alliance for allegedly obstructing the implementation of the women's reservation bill in Lok Sabha, a party leader said on Monday. The procession will be taken out by BJP Women's wing from Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk. ''On April 16-17, a historic opportunity had arisen in the Parliament to give due rights and participation to women in the country. Unfortunately, Congress and its allied partners in INDIA bloc opposed it, betraying women,'' BJP leader and Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, said while addressing reporters at the party's state headquarters in Ranchi. The opposition parties never gave adequate opportunities to women in the legislative Assembly or in the Lok Sabha for years, she alleged. ''But when the time came to give rights to women, their anti-women character was exposed,'' she added. Sahu further said, ''In support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and to highlight the anti-women mentality of the INDIA bloc, a massive torchlight procession will be taken out on April 28 in Ranchi.''
