Senior IAS officer B Ashok, recently suspended for allegedly breaching service rules by speaking to the media and critiquing government policies, has openly criticized the Left administration, branding it as intolerant.
During a press conference, Ashok, who served as Principal Secretary in the Sainik Welfare Department and Vice Chancellor of Kerala Agriculture University, asserted that the suspension order lacked solid grounds. He dismissed intentions to contest the suspension legally, arguing it was issued by a government essentially dismissed by the public.
Ashok claimed the suspension was part of a broader governmental effort to suppress civil servants' voices, especially following his opposition to certain government decisions regarding IAS operations in Kerala. He criticized the appointment of bureaucrats to roles with excessive power, which sparked internal disputes within the IAS cadre.
