Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed confidence on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would retain its governing status in Assam while foreseeing a major political change in West Bengal, attributing this to the enduring faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party's leadership.

The minister also asserted that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was likely to retain power in Puducherry. Additionally, Pradhan conveyed optimism for the BJP-led alliance's performance in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, hinting at a strong emergence in these regions.

As vote counting kicks off on May 4 for assemblies in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Assam, Pradhan highlighted the significant anti-incumbency sentiment against the ruling TMC in West Bengal. Meanwhile, several exit polls suggest a decisive BJP victory in Assam and formidable competition in West Bengal.
