Akhilesh Yadav Calls for CBI Probe in Hardoi Tragedy

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the killing of a girl in Hardoi's Bilgram area. Yadav, criticizing the BJP-led administration, claimed Uttar Pradesh has become a leader in crimes against women.
Yadav visited Garhi Rasulpur village, where he extended his condolences to the family of Shilpi Kushwaha, who was killed in April. The former chief minister handed over a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh to the victim's family and promised a government job to a family member if his party returns to power.
Raising questions about the local police's response, Yadav stated that the victim had sought assistance from authorities multiple times but was ignored. Asserting the need for justice, he urged the state to ensure termination of negligent officers and labeled Uttar Pradesh as the most unsafe state for women per NCRB data.
