Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara addressed reporters on Saturday, clarifying that his meeting with Congress leader BK Hariprasad was merely a 'courtesy interaction.' He dismissed speculations linking the meeting to leadership changes in the state.

According to Parameshwara, the meeting with Hariprasad and MLA Jamir Ahmad revolved around political developments and elections in other states. He mentioned that Hariprasad had met the Chief Minister but did not disclose details of their discussion.

Parameshwara emphasized that their interaction was informal, focusing on broad political analysis rather than internal leadership issues. He also welcomed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's statement ruling out any leadership change, noting it as a 'full stop' to ongoing speculation.

Further discussing elections in multiple states, Parameshwara expressed optimism about the Congress's prospects in Kerala and the DMK's chances in Tamil Nadu, while acknowledging strong support for West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, he noted the BJP's possible return in Assam as indicated by surveys.
