A repoll was conducted across 15 booths in two assembly constituencies in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, recording a 55% turnout by early afternoon. The Election Commission ordered the repoll due to alleged electoral malpractices during the previous phase.
While the process was mostly smooth, an incident at the Diamond Harbour's Chanda Primary School booth sparked protests. A specially abled voter and his mother were reportedly harassed by central forces, prompting Trinamool Congress leaders to intervene.
The competitive election battles continued with various candidates from major parties contesting in the Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour constituencies, representing parties such as TMC, BJP, Congress, and CPI(M). The results will be crucial for the political landscape in the region, with counting of votes scheduled for May 4.
