Nagaland's Mokokchung district is gearing up for the vote count of the Koridang Assembly by-election on May 4. The bypoll, driven by the late BJP MLA Imkong L Imchen's vacancy, garnered a voter turnout of 82.21% on April 9.

Six candidates are vying for the position. Among them is BJP's Daochier I Imchen, the People's Democratic Alliance's preferred nominee, and contenders from Congress, the NPP, and three independents. Comprehensive security measures are in place to prevent any election-related disruptions previously witnessed.

Counting is set to commence at 8 a.m. at the Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner's office across 10 tables over three rounds. With fortified security and trained personnel, the proceedings will be monitored to ensure accuracy, with results anticipated by the afternoon. The process promises to be meticulous, following Election Commission guidelines.
