Celebrating the 198th birth anniversary of Jean Henri Dunant, founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the event underscores the critical role of volunteers in conflict and disaster situations. Officials from IRCSN remarked that this year's activities go beyond symbolic gestures, intending to strengthen humanitarian awareness and volunteerism across Nagaland.

In addition to the walk, which begins at the Red Cross Complex in Kohima and concludes with a motivational health talk, the event is part of a broader campaign. Santu Thapa, the joint secretary of the IRCSN Kohima Branch, emphasized the need for a collective movement to further humanitarian work in the region.
