The pro-incumbency trend in Assam has continued to favor the BJP, whereas anti-incumbency sentiment has worked in the party’s favor in the West Bengal Assembly elections, stated N Ramchander Rao, Telangana BJP president, on Monday.
Reacting to the poll trends, which appear to favor the BJP in both West Bengal and Assam, Rao noted that the DMK party was being pushed to a third position in Tamil Nadu. This shift occurs as voters in the southern state express a desire for change, moving away from the DMK–Congress alliance.
Rao claims that the alleged corruption within the TMC government contributed to its possible defeat in Bengal. As per the latest Election Commission of India trends, BJP leads in 154 of the 294 constituencies in West Bengal and 79 of the 126 in Assam, suggesting a potential victory in both regions. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's race sees actor-politician Vijay's TVK leading in 110 of 234 seats, surpassing the DMK which holds 48, and the AIADMK at 57.
