Senior Congress leader VD Satheesan on Monday credited the Congress-led United Democratic Front’s (UDF) rising lead in the Kerala Assembly elections to widespread anti-incumbency sentiment against the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF). Speaking on the triumph, Satheesan noted, “There was anti-incumbency. We discussed a new era for future Kerala. We had credibility among the people. I had earlier said that 10 ministers will lose, and that is what happened." His prediction of 10 ministerial defeats underscored the public's shift away from the LDF, propelling the UDF towards success.

Satheesan, addressing ANI, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Kerala for their overwhelming support, attributing the UDF's victory to its leaders and party workers' concerted efforts. "We are grateful to the people of Kerala. I dedicate this victory to the UDF leaders and workers," he stated, reaffirming his commitment to delivering on his earlier promise to reinstate UDF's governance.

The influential campaigns by top Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, across Kerala played a pivotal role in securing the UDF's win. “Thanks to the people who gave a resounding victory to Team UDF. Gratitude to Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and others who conducted a strong campaign across Kerala,” remarked Satheesan at a press conference. This electoral win signifies a potential generational transition in Kerala politics, with leadership now centering around new prominent figures such as Satheesan, amidst the counting of votes still underway in various key states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, under tight security arrangements.
