Renowned Tamil filmmaker S A Chandrasekhar expressed great pride on Monday in the political journey of his son, TVK chief Vijay, during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Speaking to PTI Videos amid vote counting, Chandrasekhar emphasized his son's commitment to meeting public expectations and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the electorate's support.
Chandrasekhar noted that the election landscape had largely become a direct fight between TVK and DMK, a dynamic Vijay foresaw when he entered politics two years ago. Despite not having reached the majority mark, Vijay is seen as carrying significant hopes and dreams for Tamil Nadu's future, having long planned his transition to public life.
While Chandrasekhar identifies as a TVK member, he clearly distinguished his role as a father from the party's operations, declining to comment on potential political alliances. He stressed that Vijay must make his own decisions regarding party strategy and government formation, as his family celebrates his political strides.
