Kabir, once a member of the TMC and expelled in December due to his controversial plan for a mosque resembling the Babri Masjid in Beldanga, garnered a remarkable 86,463 votes in Nowda, defeating BJP's Rana Mandal by a significant margin of 27,943 votes. The TMC's candidate, Sahina Momtaz Khan, trailed in third place.
Kabir's lead was even more pronounced in Rejinagar, amassing 1,23,536 votes, overshadowing BJP's Bapan Ghosh, who secured 64,660 votes. Kabir's resounding success comes merely four months after AJUP's inception, despite a setback where AIMIM severed ties over a controversial video.
