Chief Minister and prominent AINRC leader, N Rangasamy, emerged victorious in two critical Assembly seats in the recent elections held in the union territory. Rangasamy secured the Thattanchavady and Mangalam seats, defeating Neyam Makkal Kazhagam's E Vinayagam by 4,441 votes in Thattanchavady, a region he considers home turf.
Rangasamy also overcame formidable competition from DMK's SS Rangan, clinching Mangalam with a winning margin of 7,050 votes. The Chief Minister's decision to contest from two seats follows a similar pattern seen in the 2021 elections, where he contested in Yanam and Thattanchavady, succeeding only in the latter.
With both victories secured, Rangasamy is now tasked with deciding which of the two seats he will vacate. The strategic move showcases Rangasamy's political acumen and reinforces his influence within the region.
