In a remarkable political upset, V S Babu, an adept former legislator from Chennai, swept to victory against M K Stalin, the president of DMK, in the Kolathur constituency. Babu's triumph not only ended Stalin's eleven-year stronghold but also signaled a significant shift in the region's political dynamics.
Previous loyalties did not deter Babu, who formerly served under the DMK banner, from challenging the Dravidian majors. After joining Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam earlier this year, Babu's strategic campaign and appeal to the voters paved his path to success.
With a decisive margin of 8,795 votes, Babu secured a total of 82,997 votes while Stalin managed to gather 74,202. This unexpected win reshapes expectations and strategies in Tamil Nadu's political arena.
