External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged in wide-ranging discussions with Jamaican officials, including his counterpart Kamina J Smith. The talks aimed to bolster bilateral cooperation across various sectors and called for reinforced economic ties between India and Jamaica.
Jaishankar arrived in Kingston as part of his nine-day, three-nation tour through Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago, working to fortify India's strategic and cultural connections with Caribbean nations.
Discussions covered numerous areas including education, health, agriculture, digital sectors, tourism, sports, entertainment, infrastructure, and multilateral issues. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of deepening India-Jamaica business engagements as countries seek reliable global partners, urging for more vigorous exploration of bilateral and regional economic cooperation.
