The Martin family, under the leadership of Santiago Martin, made a significant impact in the 2026 assembly elections for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This political triumph was achieved by one family across multiple party lines, highlighting a unique electoral success.
Leemarose Martin, representing the AIADMK, emerged victorious in the Lalgudi assembly constituency located in the Tiruchi district, outpacing her nearest competitor KU PA Krishnan from TVK by 2,739 votes. Meanwhile, Jose Charles Martin, running under the LJK banner, secured a comfortable win in Puducherry's Kamaraj Nagar constituency, defeating Congress candidate P K Devadoss by a margin of 10,205 votes.
Adding to the family's extraordinary electoral success, Aadhav Arjuna, Santiago Martin's son-in-law, claimed victory in the Villivakkam constituency in Chennai. Contesting on a ticket from Vijay's TVK party, Arjuna defeated his DMK opponent Karthik Mohan by a significant 17,302 votes, cementing the family's cross-party political foothold.
