In a bid to form a government in Tamil Nadu, Vijay-led TVK is navigating the political landscape, seeking critical alliances. Having won 108 seats, the party is 10 seats short of a majority. VCK, an ally of DMK with two seats, has yet to decide on extending support.
Despite TVK's outreach efforts, the Left parties and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) have opted out of any alliance. Senior VCK members indicate that party president Thol Thirumavalavan will ultimately make the call on whether to support TVK.
Recently elected CPI(M), CPI, and IUML legislators met with DMK president M K Stalin, where they reaffirmed their ongoing support for DMK, further complicating TVK's efforts to secure a majority coalition.
