The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alongside its allies, has achieved a landmark victory by sweeping the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) reserved seats in recent state assembly elections across Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. This victory highlights a significant consolidation of support among marginalized communities.
In Assam, the BJP and its alliance partners achieved a robust stand, winning 18 ST reserved constituencies and significantly increasing their influence in the region. A similar pattern emerged in West Bengal, where the BJP claimed a staggering 75 percent of SC reserved seats, predominantly in tribal areas.
The results indicate an overwhelming acceptance of the BJP among Dalit and tribal voters, shifting the political landscape significantly. With decisive wins in these reserved seats, the alliance has reshaped the political dynamics in these crucial regions, setting the stage for continued dominance.
