The victim, Chandranath Rath, was traveling back to his flat when assailants on a motorcycle ambushed his vehicle. They shattered the front windshield of the car with multiple bullets before fleeing, causing fatal injuries to Rath, who was seated in the front seat. The gravity of the attack left another passenger injured.
As news of the assassination spread, BJP supporters quickly converged outside the medical facility, expressing their outrage.
